Ramshorn Peak - Wyoming

By Brian Latturner

Late June of 2010 was when my buddy, Paul, and I set out on a backpack trip into the highcountry of Western Wyoming. On that trip, we packed about 5-6 miles into a peak called Ramshorn. It's located just south of the highway between Hoback Junction and Bondurant. I believe it's highway 191.

It turned out to be a great backpacking trip. There was snow banks on the high ridges, so getting water was easy. There was little to no wind, so camping right on the top was awesome!

If you're interested in doing this backpack trip, the direction to the trailhead is in the map to the right. If you do make the trip, I think you'll be happy you did. The scenery in that highcountry is quite incredible.
